Tristan made it very clear that his Dad was his favorite person on this trip...and not me. I think that it's because at home, I'm with him all day, every day. So to be able to spend this much time with his Dad was pure heaven. I was always getting pushed away when they were having their special moments, no moms allowed! I guess I can't blame him, Dads are way more fun.
He took a nasty fall while paddling on one knee on the board. You can see the broken blood under the skin on his forehead. He was sad for one second and got right back up. It looks like someone needs a helmet for his birthday next month.
New Years Eve we met up with a couple of other families at Kalopa State Park to have a picnic lunch and play some frisbee baseball. Tristan was not shy and jumped right into the game.
Christian waves his sparklers next to his Dad and his twin brother, Christian.
Tristan was having some trials while the fireworks were going off, and we realized that it's because he didn't want his Dad to get hurt. Any time Christian got too close to the fireworks, he went hysterical and was screaming his Dad's name. Dad had to come up and comfort him a couple of times while I was holding him. As soon as he switched to Dad's arms, he would immediately stop crying and push me away to go play with the fireworks. Apparently he didn't really care if I got burnt or not. What a sweetheart.
Beautiful power walk down Mana Road. 4 miles to be exact.
